It is suitable to take Swisse Women’s Ultivite Formula 1 on an ongoing basis, to assist in maintaining general wellbeing, however it is important to review your supplement regime regularly.

Is it normal for the colour of the urine to turn bright yellow from the use of the Swisse formulas?

Yes. These are mainly B vitamins being eliminated from the body. What your body requires for that day is utilised, and the remainder is excreted. This also shows that the tablet/capsule has disintegrated effectively in the body.

Study title: Randomized clinical trial investigating effects of a multi-nutrient combination on mood, stress, sleep and cognition.

Study centre: Centre for Human Psychopharmacology, Swinburne

Products: Swisse Men’s Ultivite Formula 1 and Swisse Women’s Ultivite Formula 1

Commencement date: March 2011

Status: Data collection for this study is complete. Data analysis is underway.

Clinical Trial Registry code: ACTRN12611000092998

This is a placebo-controlled, double-blind, randomised, parallel groups study that sought to investigate the effects of taking the Men’s or Women’s Ultivite daily for 16-weeks on mood, stress, sleep and cognition in healthy men and women aged 20 to 50 years. Participants completed questionnaires relating to their feelings of general well being, stress and anxiety, sleep quality and feelings of fatigue, mood and any physical complaints. Sensitive computerised tasks were used to assess executive function, memory, speed of processing and multitasking ability and the effect that cognitive stressors have on mood, fatigue and ability to concentrate. The study also examined potential biological mechanisms through which Ultivite use may be beneficial including blood measures, cardiovascular health and brain function.

Preliminary analyses (non-peer reviewed) indicate that both Men’s and Women’s Ultivite F1 formulations lower homocysteine.
